Resources

Josephine County Historical Society is primarily a research library. Our library contains many documents including family histories, photos, maps, newspapers and much more! We also maintain the Schmidt House Museum- a house donated to us by the Schmidt Family which we have turned into a museum featuring original pieces and donations from around the area.

Our Living History Players perform in the community by dressing up as historical figures and sharing about their character's life. They are a volunteer organization grown from the Historical Society.

Sundays Make History

Our own volunteer, Joan Momsen, is a life-long resident of Grants Pass, OR. She has published multiple books that are for sale in the Historical Society library and regularly writes for The Courier. Check out some of her latest Sundays Make History articles below!
